💬 About Indian Springs State Park
Indian Springs State Park holds the distinction of being one of the oldest state parks in the United States, with a history stretching back to the 1820s when Creek Nation chief William McIntosh built a hotel near the healing mineral springs. Today the park encompasses over 500 acres and offers something for every outdoor enthusiast. Visitors can swim, fish, and pedal-boat on the beautiful spring-fed lake, hike and bike on scenic wooded trails, and explore the historic Indian Springs Museum. The park features modern cottages, tent and RV campsites, a group shelter, and a miniature golf course. The natural sulfur mineral spring, said to have healing properties, is a unique attraction found nowhere else in the Southeast.
