💬 About Dauset Trails Nature Center

Dauset Trails Nature Center is a hidden gem of Butts County and one of Georgia's most beloved wildlife sanctuaries. Operated by the Butts County government, this 1,200-acre nature preserve is home to native Georgia wildlife including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, river otters, foxes, great horned owls, and many other species — all living in natural habitat enclosures. Seventeen miles of well-marked trails wind through forests, along streams, and past fishing ponds stocked with bass and bream. The nature center hosts educational programs, school field trips, scout outings, and seasonal events throughout the year. Admission is free, making it an outstanding community resource.
